How to use sheet metal to design the appearance structure

The material of the product directly affects the product. It can be said that more than 80% of large and small industrial equipment are made of metal. The metal materials mainly include sheet metal, stainless steel, stretched aluminum alloy, plastic, cast aluminum, etc. The sheet metal material is ours. At present, the most widely used metal materials, the following is a brief analysis of industrial sheet metal equipment design methods and precautions.

First of all, the design of industrial sheet metal equipment is constrained by sheet metal processing methods. At present, the common sheet metal processing methods on the market mainly include stamping forming, bending forming, cutting, welding and so on. Sheet metal materials are mostly sheet-like. Generally speaking, in the design of sheet metal equipment, designers consider more the one-way arc of the product, and rarely consider the two-way arc. Because the shape of the two-way arc surface requires a stamping die, this will lead to increased costs.

It should be noted that the standard arc surface should be used as much as possible when designing the sheet metal. Because the data is not easy to control during bending, cutting cylinder welding is generally adopted. As far as welding is concerned, designers cannot think of this welding as a panacea. Some designers like to cut a bevel on a single arc surface and use a straight surface to seal the cover. From this point of view, the welding accuracy is not easy to control, and the design is very unsightly.

Secondly, due to the modeling constraints caused by material processing attributes, designers generally use the following methods in the process of industrial sheet metal equipment appearance design. First, Mondrian’s cutting technique is widely used in design. This requires designers to have a certain skill in the composition of the plane. Second, the stacking method. We use the Mondrian method in combination with the stacking method. The lamination process makes the product look breathable and three-dimensional. Third, the bevel cutting and splicing method, which uses straight bevel cutting to take advantage. This method often makes the product appear exaggerated.

Furthermore, the color matching of the appearance design of sheet metal equipment is also an important consideration for designers. In fact, the color matching of sheet metal is a bit close to the color matching of medical products. Generally speaking, the product is no more than three colors. Maybe sheet metal products are more mean, almost all products are embellished with one color, especially black and white is not a color. And designers should use less large-area techniques when matching sheet metal colors, and the color of medical tapes is generally used in low purity, and industrial equipment is generally used in low purity and low brightness. In particular, this refers to most of them, because they can also be matched with light colors, and sometimes this combination is also very good.

In addition, for medical device sheet metal equipment, to truly reflect the characteristics of the flexible hardware of the medical device, it must rely on the sheet metal process, so medical devices have relatively high requirements on the sheet metal process, which is specifically reflected in: the precision of the movable connector Degree requirements, especially the joints after welding and splicing; the surface appearance process requirements of the outer frame of the outer frame, shaped appearance molding, welding and polishing consistency; surface treatment requirements, except that the internal joints are galvanized or blackened, generally The use of electrostatic spraying or baking varnish (currently being gradually replaced by the former) requires uniform and soft color, strong bonding, and no defects on the surface, and the color is mainly light tones. These all require careful consideration by the designer in the actual sheet metal equipment modeling design work.
